A CLOSED business premises could be brought back into use should new plans be approved.

Proposals have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department for the unit on Manchester Road in Fairfield.

These seek permission for a proposed change of use from retail to food takeaway, as well as for the addition of aluminium ducting to the rear of the property.

Plans by applicant Mohammad Khan state: “Mr Kahn is the sole owner of the building, of which the first floor is a dwelling.

“The ground floor was previously registered as a florist and is now unoccupied.

“Mr Kahn is proposing to change the use class to a take away food establishment.

“He also needs to erect an aluminium ducting pipe to the rear of the property to extract the kitchen fumes.

“The site is not within the green belt zone, there are no listed buildings in the area and the site is not a conservation area.”

Documents add that there is an existing take away restaurant to the left and other small businesses occupy the other surrounding buildings.

The development would use existing parking spaces to the front of the shop.

It is proposed that the takeaway opens at 5pm and closes at 11pm, and it would occupy two to three staff members at any one time

Plans are with the council and will be decided upon in due course.
