ONE hundred is not often a score to be proud of in golf.
But for members of Lymm Golf Club, 100 meant it was time to celebrate the centenary anniversary of the club.
As part of a variety of events, a centenary bridge was unveiled at the first tee during a day of celebrations on Saturday, March 31, opened by club captain, John Dixon, and lady captain, Lesley Peak.
And the day marked the launch of the centenary book - tracing the first 100 years of the club.
Written by club member John Goodier, the book charts the construction and changes to the course and clubhouse.
The course was originally built within the old meander of the Mersey.
Other planned events include the official opening of the renovated clubhouse this month followed by a summer ball, Edwardian golf day and matches against other clubs.
The club has also set up a Society of 2007 Centenary Golf Clubs' which has attracted more than 30 members from places as diverse as the Phillipines and Italy.
